Preston North End have signed Southampton striker Jonathan Forte on an emergency loan deal.
North End have also brought in youngster Sam Hoskins from the same club, following the short-term deal for keeper Thorsten Stuckmann.
Former Sheffield United and Scunthorpe hit man Forte will wear the No.34 shirt until his loan move expires on December 10th.
The 25-year-old is eligible to play in Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash at Rochdale but is unavailable for selection in Saturday’s FA Cup first-round tie against Southend at Deepdale due to him being cup-tied.
Hoskins an 18 year old striker who has yet to make his league debut for the Saints will wear the No.35 shirt.
Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay said: “Everybody at the club has been disappointed at the recent results and the board and the owner have supported the manager’s efforts to recruit new faces.
“Jonathan is a quick and strong forward with experience at our level, whereas Sam is a young player with lots of potential but his loan with us is more for his experience.
“Along with the arrival of Thorsten Stuckmann we have added a little more depth to the manager’s options and hopefully some more competition for places.”
