Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust continues to be a centre of excellence for research which translates into measurable improvements in clinical outcomes and levels of satisfaction for the residents of the Fylde Coast and beyond.

The Trust has more than 70 studies running at any one time across a number of different specialities. The Trust employs outstanding research staff and has strong links with research networks and local universities.

The Trust is proud to announce the following trial:

OPPTIMUM STUDY

Researchers across the UK are collaborating on a clinical research trial, investigating if the hormone Progesterone can help prevent pre-term birth. If you, or someone you know, have experienced:

•A previous early birth (before 37 weeks)
•A previous second trimester loss (between 16 and 24 weeks)
•A spontaneous rupture of membranes (before 37 weeks)
