Lancaster-based theatrical scare company, AtmosFEAR! Entertainment Group, which has worked alongside a number of blue chip clients including Walt Disney Pictures, Merlin Entertainments and Virgin Active, has secured deals to host 10 new Hallowe’en fright fests at locations across the UK and Ireland.

Established in 2000 and co-owned by TV presenter, Jason Karl, AtmosFEAR! is the UK’s first entertainment production company and recently featured on Virgin 1’s Duncan Bannatyne’s Seaside.

The company’s headline attraction, Scare Kingdom Scream Park, based near Blackburn, Lancashire, was also showcased to more than six million viewers on the BBC 1 programme, Countryfile, in 2009.

The concept behind the company’s location-based, theatrical horror entertainment, originates in the US where the industry is huge and worth a staggering $500M.

Today, AtmosFEAR! includes a major line-up of creative talent including professional theatrical designers, TV and film producers, technicians, special effects engineers, performers and an events and marketing team.

Mr Karl, creative producer of the company, said: “After a decade of making people scream, we know how to really give people a great experience that they will enjoy and remember.

“For our tenth birthday we are really pushing the boundaries with ten different scare attractions all over the UK and are relying on our ever expanding troop of performers and producers to bring the scare attractions to life.”

By combining real historical locations, haute cuisine, detailed visual theming, tactile effects, sounds, animatronics, prosthetics, projection effects, puppets and live acting talent, AtmosFEAR! delivers an entertainment experience with strong back stories, theatrical illusions and themed environments.

Forthcoming Hallowe’en scare attractions include five at Scare Kingdom Scream Park, located at Hawkshaw Farm Park, Clayton-le-Dale, near Blackburn, running on ten dates between October 22 to November 6 inclusive. Visit www.scarekingdom.com for details, bookings and discounted entry.

Other attractions include MediEVIL at historic Samlesbury Hall, near Preston, on October 27, 28 and 29 and November 5 inclusive. Visit www.medievil3.com

In Leeds, the company is to rattle the rafters at the city centre building, The Temple Works, in Marshall Street, for the scare attraction, Temple HospitHELL Live!, running October 29-31. Visit www.templehospital.co.uk

At Stockeld Park, Wetherby, near Harrogate, Yorkshire, two scare fests called Halloween Hollow and Psycho Maze run from October 29-31. Visit www.thechristmasadventure.com

Mr Karl added: “As the UK’s longest standing and most successful scare entertainment team we have reached an incredible milestone and are looking forward to dreaming up more terrors as we progress towards twenty years.”
