A Lancashire family-run business is celebrating its biggest growth since the company was founded in 1999.
Warrantywise is now the UK’s leading warranty provider and employs 38 people in its head offices in Padiham, Lancashire, from the local and surrounding areas.
The company has witnessed a new level of success since Lawrence Whittaker took over the day-to-day running of Warrantywise as Managing Director in 2009, with both turnover and profit doubling, despite the tough economic conditions.
Lawrence, 26, is a young entrepreneur, having started his own business at the age of 16, selling used car parts.
Lawrence moved into the family business as a member of the car dealer warranty team, before taking over the role of Managing Director at Warrantywise at the age of 25 from his father and founder of the company, Andrew Whittaker.
Andrew is now the Chairman of Warrantywise.
Warrantywise now operates policies for over 8,000 customers across the UK and Lawrence Whittaker believes that the company success is down to the innovative product, gold standard of customer service and the passion and commitment of the employees.
He explains: “We believe that we have a unique warranty offering for the UK as we cover all mechanical, all electrical and all electronic parts for every make and model of vehicle – the first of its kind.
“It has been a huge challenge to grow the company despite the recession, but we have done so, and continue to grow at our most rapid rate since the company formed in 1999. I am delighted with the success of Warrantywise and our continuous expansion. Our head office in Padiham is growing in size too to accommodate all of our staff and we will always stay in this area – the heart of our company is in Lancashire.
“We are very lucky to have such dedicated staff at Warrantywise too. Many of our employees have been with the business for more than 5 years and are from the local and surrounding area, which makes our business feel more like a local, family-run business than a big, corporate machine.”
In 2008, Warrantywise brought in Quentin Wilson, one of Britain’s best known motoring authorities, to help re-design and re-launch the Warrantywise Used Car Warranty, to ensure that it was better than any other motor warranty available in the UK.
The Warrantywise Used Car Warranty has been designed to be transparently better and has no weasel words. Weasel words are get out words that other warranty companies include in their policies to help them find ways to decline claims, which inevitably means the motorist has to pay the bill.
