
The HSBC team in the North West were the proud winners of Greater China Recognition Award 2010 for the region at the Greater China Awards.
The accolade was to celebrate the HSBC team’s longstanding commitment and support to UK Trade and Investment's China Trade development activities in the North West through
*raising awareness of business opportunities in Greater China
*positive assistance to companies trading in Greater China
*generosity in making available staff and premises to support UKTI Northwest programmes
*regular participation in missions and events
The Recognition award, sponsored by UK Trade and Investment and the Northwest Development Agency, is given in recognition of named individuals or organisations that have made a significant contribution to developing links with Greater China during 2009.
Jason Butler, HSBC Regional International Commercial Manager in the North West, accepted the award and said: "HSBC prides itself on its international strength and expertise, and the Commercial Banking team in the North West wishes to be at the vanguard of this. Winning the UKTI Greater China Recognition Award 2010 is testament to the team’s hard work and we’re extremely proud to have won it.
"Both UKTI and HSBC understand that as a business, gaining the best advice is imperative when entering new markets if success is to become reality. The bank has international experts across the North West including the recently appointed International Commercial Managers in Manchester, Liverpool and Preston, to offer advice to all types of business considering overseas investment.
"Meanwhile, this week we are launching the HSBC Doing Business in China brochure which offers useful insight for businesses aspiring to trade in the country."

The winners were announced at the Greater China Awards and Chinese New Year Dinner on Friday 12 February at the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays. The awards were also supported by Finnair, which provided flights as a prize for the winning company.
