A Lancashire company has launched a major consultation on they can help Preston's economy to flourish.
Preston Vision, was set up to help the city focus on objectives to safeguard its long-term economic regeneration.
The strategic goals will be outlined in a draft proposal on Friday after consulting the public and business leaders in the region.
More than 100 people attended workshops held at the Guild Hall, Preston in July, while 35 influential people from various sectors also offered their views on how to help the city's economy and its people to flourish.
Eliot Ward, chief executive of Preston Vision, said: "Hearing what businesses and communities have to say about Preston's future has been enlightening and the consultation process has enabled us to tap into the experiences and expertise of many people from a variety of backgrounds.
"To make real change in Preston, private, public, and voluntary sector bodies need to work closely and effectively together is and this is a good example of what can happen if they do.
"The hunger for change that we detected early on is confirmed by the consultation's draft findings. This process will help us define a clear, ambitious vision of what Preston should be in ten years - giving the city a focus and the energy that it has needed since it gained city status in 2002.
"Preston people are rightly proud of their city and its achievements, but they also recognise a need for it to flourish economically and culturally for future generations."
The Preston Vision chief has pointed towards building entrepreneurial spirit, developing a brand for the city, community cohesion and capitalising on Preston's connectivity and location as key objectives to be developed.
Copies of the four-page draft strategy document are being sent to those who took part in the consultation for further discussion and comment before it is taken to Preston Vision's board in September.
